Digital Dental Radiographs (X-Rays)
Digital Dental Radiographs (X-Rays)
The
Dentist and patient can watch the images come up on the computer screen
seconds after the sensor is inserted into their mouth. This allows for
better education and understanding for our patients, resulting in
greater confidence in treatment. Digital x-rays have the ability to be
computer enhanced and magnified. A
concern to many of our patients is the amount of radiation they are
exposed to when getting their x-rays. By using digital radiography, the
patient exposure is reduced by 90%. Thus, providing better protection to
our patients and staff.
Computerized Injections (Shots) -
The Wand The wand is the
latest addition to injections (shots) to make them virtually painless.
It is not the needle that hurts, it is the sting of the solution.
"The Wand" is a computer-controlled system that delivers a slow, even
flow of anesthetic, which allows the dentist to give a very comfortable
and virtually pain-free injection. It also allows the dentist to
perform new and improved injections that are precise enough to just numb
the targeted area, so now a patient can leave the dentist without a
crooked smile, drooling or slurred speech. It also does not look
like the typical dental syringe, therefore, it does not trigger that
"fearful" reaction that many children and adults experience. The DIAGNOdent
is a laser cavity detection that can find small cavities which normally
are not seen with X-rays or visually because they often hide along
fissure lines, or inside biting or occlusal surfaces. Using
DIAGNOdent technology allows us to stop cavities before they become
large and destructive. It requires no X-rays, and is completely
painless. Not only can it help prevent the spread of decay, but catching
decay early means fillings required are more simple and shallow,
preserving more of the tooth. |
